The Dodge Charger Daytona has sparked some debate among muscle car enthusiasts, as it represents the future of performance with an electrified powertrain. While opinions may vary, one thing is certain—the Daytona offers a compelling mix of technology, performance, and style.
Inside, drivers are greeted with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and integrated TomTom navigation. Other premium touches include cloth and leatherette upholstery, a heated steering wheel, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, LED ambient lighting, and a nine-speaker Alpine audio system.
Performance-wise, the R/T features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers 456 hp (340 kW / 462 PS) and 404 lb-ft (547 Nm) of torque, with a PowerShot feature that temporarily boosts output to 496 hp (370 kW / 503 PS). This setup enables a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 137 mph (220 km/h). The 93.9 kWh battery pack provides an estimated range of 317 miles (510 km), and with a 350 kW DC fast charger, a 20-80% charge can be achieved in about 28 minutes.
Scat Pack: Elevated Performance and Features
Stepping up to the Charger Daytona Scat Pack brings even more power and performance enhancements. The Scat Pack rides on 20-inch wheels with a Satin Carbon finish and features a 16-inch digital instrument cluster as standard. More significant changes lie in its performance capabilities, with Launch Control, Line Lock, and Race Prep Mode, which optimizes the battery for track use.
Under the hood, the dual-motor all-wheel drive system generates 630 hp (470 kW / 639 PS) and 627 lb-ft (849 Nm) of torque, with PowerShot increasing output to 670 hp (500 kW / 679 PS). This results in a 0-60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds and a quarter-mile run in 11.5 seconds. However, the range is slightly lower at 260 miles (418 km), and the top speed is 134 mph (216 km/h).
Braking and handling also receive an upgrade, with six-piston Brembo front brakes, a high-performance suspension, and unique driving modes such as Donut, Drag, Drift, and Track. Enthusiasts can further enhance performance with the Track Package, which includes adaptive dampers, a beefier braking system, and Goodyear Eagle Sport all-season tires.
Dodge offers a variety of optional packages to cater to different preferences. The Blacktop Package enhances aesthetics with dark badging and larger 20-inch wheels. The Sun & Sound Package adds a glass roof and an 18-speaker Alpine premium audio system.
For those seeking luxury, the R/T Plus Group adds 20-inch wheels, premium LED lighting, a frunk, digital key technology, and a power liftgate. Inside, it offers leatherette front seats with heating, ventilation, and power adjustment, along with a larger 16-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and extended ambient lighting.
The Scat Pack Plus Group mirrors these upgrades, adding heated rear seats, a wireless smartphone charger, and premium leather seats with 12-way power adjustment. Meanwhile, the Carbon & Suede Package brings carbon fiber mirror caps, a suede headliner, and a gloss black rear spoiler.
